In the merged files for each pack ALL assets are included (toddler, child, young adult; masculine and feminine frames) that come with that specific pack. Often, when going to a world where an NPC or townie has had the hair replaced, the textures are not right. All you need to do is enter CAS with that Sim, and all is fine. Then just exit CAS. I have not talked to MaryJane about this lately, so don't know if she has changed anything since I installed her hair package.

So: 1). a creator creates the hair, imports it in s4s, s4s splits it, but does not shades these edges as sharp; 2). You export a mesh mesh that is already split; 3). You re-import a split mesh, s4s shades those edges as sharp. So, to avoid this, you need to Remove doubles with Merge distance set to 0,0001.
